• Right to Informed Consent - Patients are endowed with the legal right to be informed of their condition, treatment possibilities and the likely risks and benefits of certain procedure before consent to treatment is given.
• Right to Privacy and Confidentiality - Consumers have the right to assume that all the details of their identity and the illnesses they are suffering from are protected from disclosure to third parties. Patient confidentiality is respected and patients’ information is divulged only to health care providers that will be treating the patients or where the patient has given consent to do so.

• Right to Safe Environment - Professionals have the responsibility to provide safe setting in which the patient would not be at risk of being harmed. This entails having access to measures to minimize the spread of infection, secure patient’s rooms, and perhaps ambulance services if the need arises.

Attendant Rights

• Right to Information - An attendant has the right to get information concerning the patient’s treatment, procedures, and condition.
• Right to be involved - Has the right to participate in the process of care and decision making including the treatment plan, the post care instructions and the discharge plan.
